WHY THE NEW NAME?

The success of the 1999 GDC HardCore Technical Seminars screamed for a repeat in 2001. The chairs of the 1999 seminars, Chris Hecker and Jeff Lander, knew that the gaming community would continue to demand lectures of this caliber. In order to keep the seminars small and intensely focused, Chris and Jeff decided to put on the seminars themselves this year, and they created the Game Technology Seminars.
